Sarah Mitchell grew up in Portugal and has been an active musician since enrolling in the National Conservatory of Music in Lisbon, where she studied flute. After studying vocal performance and earning a sacred music degree, Sarah worked with Hawaii Opera Theater. There she was a member of the Mae Z. Orvis Opera Studio Program for adult singers, a soprano in the opera chorus, and program coordinator for the Orvis Young Voices Studio. During that time, she performed in HOT’s Opera Express, a thriving education & outreach program designed to bring opera to schools all over the Hawaiian islands. Sarah has studied under Shouvik Mondle. Recent roles have included Mrs. Tottendale in The Drowsy Chaperone at Annapolis Summer Garden Theater and Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music at 2nd Star Productions, both in Maryland. Sarah currently sings in her church and teaches voice, piano, and choir. She has three little ones at home that are becoming wonderful musicians in their own right.
